2011 Charity Club

 

The Wagga Picnic Race Charity Club provides funding to Country Hope to assist in running their annual Children's Camp.

Each year, Country Hope puts on a week of fun and activities for the children. Since the inaugural holiday week held at Borambola Sport and Recreation Camp in 2003, the camps have provided a wide range of activities for the children from southern New South Wales and northern Victoria who have been diagnosed with cancer or similar illnesses, along with their carers and medical staff .

Wherever possible Country Hope also includes the brothers and sisters of children on treatment or those who have lost a brother or sister to cancer related illness.

Each child has a Country Hope Carer who is responsible for the child and ensures they have a great time through the week. All of the Carers have attended the Country Hope Carer Training Course which is held annually, and are expected to maintain contact with their child throughout the year and become very special friends.

Cost - $330.00 per child you wish to sponsor.

By joining the Charity Club you will directly assist in funding the children and their carers to the camp as well as provide each child with a quality backpack.

In return for your generous donation you will receive:

  • Two tickets to the Wagga Picnics Saturday October 1st 2011 and you are welcome to join us in the Members Picnic Area located on the course.

  • Acknowledgement at the Members Cocktail Party

  • Inclusion on the Honour Roll that will be printed in the Daily Advertiser and Race Book.

  • A Tax invoice for the full amount

  • The opportunity to make a difference by giving to a worthwhile local charity.
